Edmonton's newest music festival Down by the River will be making its debut this year, and organizers have shared its very first lineup. Running from September 13 to 14, this all-ages, open-air festival will be held at Louise McKinney Riverfront Park.

Ruby Waters, Boy Golden, Cat Clyde, Emily Nenni, Chaparelle, Shane Ghostkeeper, Duff Thompson and Steph Green will all perform at this year's festival. The lineup also features new voices Damaris Bojor, Bad Magi and Leon Majcen. Representing Edmonton's own music scene are the Denim Daddies, Kip Lily, Aladean Kheroufi and more.

"Down by the River is born from our love for music and the way it connects us all," Booking and Creative Director Sahib Quraishi shared in a release. "This festival is our chance to give back to the city that's given us so much."

Festival board member Gavin Delainey added, "This festival is a tribute to Edmonton's creative energy and the western roots that run deep in Alberta. It's about supporting the artists who are pushing boundaries, sharing their work with our community, and making sure everyone feels like they're part of something truly special."

The full festival lineup, as well as single-day and weekend tickets, are available on Showpass. Tickets are on sale now.

To celebrate Down by the River's inaugural year, Double Dragon will also be hosting a launch party on May 22 featuring performances from Jackson and the Janks and singer-songwriter Mariel Buckley and her band. Tickets are available here.
