Don't Ask Noel Gallagher What He Does for a Living — "Google It, Love"

"I was like, 'I change people's lives for the better.' She was like, 'Oh, what — you're in the medical profession?'"

Having announced new High Flying Birds album Council Skies yesterday (January 17), Noel Gallagher is very much on one — a press circuit, that is. Surprising no one, the former Oasis lad has said some choice things! Among them, he detailed a very normal human social interaction that recently left him "gobsmacked."

Appearing on Absolute Radio fresh off of the album announcement, Gallagher discussed being inspired by dead authors, nepo baby discourse and astrology. Since the singer-songwriter is a Gemini, host Dave Berry keenly asked him about his level of hedonism. "Going out is a big part of life," Gallagher said. "Every Thursday you can catch me in the West End — not onstage — usually in the Firehouse, talking nonsense to somebody."

Then, the self-described "perfectly functioning human being" launched into a story that took place in that very locale. "Somebody asked me in the Firehouse the other night, 'What do you do?' And I was like… I didn't know what to say."

He continued, "Well, I didn't know what to say because I'd never been asked before. I was like, 'Really?'" Gallagher proceeded to frame his face, vogue-style, and sing a bit of "Don't Look Back in Anger."

"[The girl said], 'So what is it you do?' and I was like, 'I change people's lives for the better.' She was like, 'Oh, what — you're in the medical profession?' I was like, 'Of sorts.'"

The foremost bloke concluded, "I genuinely was gobsmacked. I was like, 'Look, Google it, love… just put in 'Noel Gallagher.' 'High Flying Birds.' 'Oasis.' Put in 'Liam Gallagher,' you'll probably see a picture of me."
