Donald Trump Says He's Working to Free A$AP Rocky After Speaking with Kanye West

As previously reported, rapper A$AP Rocky is currently being detained in Sweden after he was arrested for assault earlier this month. Now, Donald Trump says he's getting involved at the request of Kanye West.

Kanye and his wife, Kim Kardashian, have spent the week petitioning Trump, asking him to intervene and free Rocky. Now, it appears that Trump has got involved.

In typical Trump fashion, the president shared a tweet saying he planned to intervene in Rocky's arrest. How that will actually pan out is yet to be seen.

A$AP Rocky's arrest took place on July 2 following a video obtained by Swedish police showing the American rapper getting into physical altercation with a young man.

The incident apparently occurred after the man accused A$AP of breaking his headphones, and while the rapper initially tried to defuse the situation, the video eventually shows Rocky grabbing the young man and beating him before throwing him several feet into the air.

Earlier today, Swedish authorities announced A$AP Rocky would be spending another six days in prison and be held in pretrial detention until July 25 in Stockholm, per the request of prosecutors.
