DJ Cassidy is known as something of a DJ to the stars, having provided the music for some notable Barack Obama events and Beyoncé and Jay Z's wedding. Now, he's preparing to release his debut album, and he's teamed up with Chromeo on the track "Future Is Mine."
The song is a bright, brass-blasted disco-pop number. With it's falsetto hooks and perky dance beat, it sounds like a classic '70s number; it's not too much of a nostalgia trip, however, as it includes the line, "Forget about the past / 'Cause the future's where it's at" shortly before a vocoder break.
