Divine Fits Expand Tour, Add Toronto Date

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 1, 2012

Spoon/Handsome Furs offshoot Divine Fits recently announced a few live dates, their first ever, which were to start up tonight (August 1) at Austin, TX's Beerland venue. The band clearly couldn't wait for the date, though, as they ended up playing a secret gig at Austin's Continental Club last night (July 31) billed as "The Hot Skull."

According to Brooklyn Vegan, the outfit played the bulk of their impending debut LP A Thing Called Divine Fits. You can sample their live show via concert clips of the Britt Daniel-sung "Flaggin a Ride," the electro-spiked Dan Boeckner jam "My Love Is Real" and a cover of Tom Petty's "You Got Lucky."

While we already learned that the group would be hitting up Il Motore in Boeckner's hometown of Montreal this Friday (August 3), Divine Fits have added another Canadian date to their tour schedule. The band will play Toronto's Lee's Palace September 5. You can see the rest of the group's itinerary down below.

As previously reported, A Thing Called Divine Fits drops August 28 through Merge/Universal Music Canada.

8/1 Austin TX - Beerland

8/3 Montreal QC - Il Motore

8/5 Chicago, IL - Schubas

8/6 Columbus OH - Ace of Cups

8/9 Salt Lake City UT - Pioneer Park
