Disturbed Are Down with the Sting-Ness on Their New Cover of "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You"

Since just about anything is possible in this modern simulation we called life, nü-metal radio rock survivors Disturbed are absolutely thriving in 2020. Not only was their song "Down with the Sickness" charting due to the coronavirus, but they're now back with a cover of Sting's "If I Ever Lose My Faith in You."

The choice is unexpected at first, but it works surprisingly well as Disturbed deliver a gothy croon for the first half of the cover before kicking into something a little more, well, moshable.

"We have loved this song for a long time, and even though it was released in 1993, it seems strangely applicable to today's world," the band said in a statement. "The song is about losing faith, and might initially sound pessimistic, but it's about the importance and power of personal relationships, and how they can save you and provide solace in an increasingly confusing world."

In 2015, they had success with a similarly surprising cover of Simon & Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence." If the right movie trailer lifted this Sting cover, they might have another winner on their hands.
