Disma

While Disma adhere to the basic riff structures of death metal, they slow the pace of their music down to a churning crawl. Their set borrowed the slogging pace of doom, but didn't drag with it all the melancholy; instead of misery, Disma conjured ferocity, like a giant grinding huge granite molars together. Each song was a slab, especially the appropriately titled "Towards the Megalith." As the grinning, boisterous crowd created one of the slowest, strangest pits of the weekend, each headbanger engaged in a stomping troll dance, guileless vocalist Craig Pillard shuffled awkwardly between songs, asking the audience if they were staying properly hydrated under the blazing Maryland sun.
