diskJokke Returns This Summer with En Fin Tid

Norwegian producer Joachim Dyrdahl turned heads with his ambitious diskJokke debut, 2008's Staying In. As we wrote in our review, the album saw the electro whiz dig into his crates for "everything from sandy Balearic dream pop, space disco and dub to house (Italo and Chicago), techno (Berlin and Detroit) and whatever else he can uncover," resulting in a record we called "well rounded and adventurous." Now Dyrdahl's merits will be tested with the release of his second album this summer.

The eight-track album is called En Fin Tid, which apparently translates to "happy time," and was recorded in Dyrdahl's home studio. For influences, the press release tells us that the record touches on everyone from Arthur Russell to Tangerine Dream to Alan Parsons Project and Holger Csukay.

And while no advance teaser tracks for En Fin Tid have leaked, we do know that the record will be released by Smalltown Supersound on June 22.
