Dischord to Release Long-Lost Dag Nasty EP with Original Vocalist

BY Josiah HughesPublished Aug 26, 2010

It's starting to look as if all you have to do is shake a stick in the Dischord headquarters and you'll stumble across some rarity begging to be reissued. Earlier this month, they reissued some out-of-print gems from Hoover, Ignition and Slant 6. Next up is a never-before-heard recording from post-hardcore greats Dag Nasty.

Before the band joined forces with vocalist Dave Smalley, they recorded an EP with the original lineup of Minor Threat's Brian Baker, Colin Sears, Roger Marbury and original vocalist Shawn Brown. The band recorded nine songs with that lineup in 1985, four of which were intended to come out as a Dischord seven-inch. Instead, Brown parted ways with the band and they rerecorded the material with Smalley for the Can I Say album.

This November, Dischord will issue the sessions with Brown as Dag With Shawn. The album will be available on LP, CD and digital download. More information can be found here.
