Cancer Bats and Diemonds Salute Justin Bieber, Drake and the Weeknd with New "Metaldy"

It's almost Juno time, and the nominees are starting to pump themselves up in a most genre-melting way. Though Diemonds and Cancer Bats are both up for Heavy Metal Album of the Year, the competitors have united to toast some of the biggest homegrown pop hits of the last year. A new "metaldy" has them hammering out Drake, the Weeknd, Justin Bieber and more.

Chunked-out mosh riffs replace the cha-cha style organs of "Hotline Bling," with Cancer Bats singer Liam Cormier's furious howl suggesting a good enough reason as to why someone may have opted out of calling him on his cellphone.

Diemonds vocalist Priya Panda adds a more melodic, though still aggro tone to the Drizzy fave, in addition to exploring the bunk party scenes from Alessia Cara's "Here" and the Weeknd's now horns-raising "Can't Feel My Face."

Other pop jams repurposed with Flying V solos and bashed beats include Justin Bieber's "What Do You Mean?" and Ria Mae's "Clothes Off."

As previously reported, the Juno Awards ceremony takes place April 3 in Calgary. You can see the full list of nominees over here.
