A number of fans who attended the gig reported via Twitter that Flying Lotus was alluding to the claims against his Brainfeeder colleague when he declared, "The internet is a fucking liar" towards the end of the set.
"Ain't nobody judge and jury but the fuckin' law, okay?" he continued, before closing by saying, "Let truth and justice have its day."
Flying Lotus then ended the set with a Gaslamp Killer song and walked off stage. Watch video footage of the onstage speech below.
FlyLo fan Mike Prysner attended the show and shared the following account of it:
Been going to #FlyingLotus shows for almost a decade—horrible to see him end such a pinnacle set by straight-up calling a rape victim a liar https://t.co/FRchdZL0UM

2 came out yesterday w/ detailed story of being raped by Gaslamp. His crew & label found it so believable they dropped him immediately...

So @flyinglotus ends set defending #GaslampKiller in bizarre ways. 1: Saying "everyone worked hard to get on this stage" 2: hes my friend...
— Mike Prysner (@MikePrysner) October 15, 2017
3: "My name is Steve" referencing Gaslamp's bizarre "I am William" response letter, 4: "the internet is a lie" i.e. the women are lying
— Mike Prysner (@MikePrysner) October 15, 2017
Everyone thought @flyinglotus was just giving a sentimental speech to end epic set. But it was all just a lead-up to this awful rape defense
— Mike Prysner (@MikePrysner) October 15, 2017
Then just show over. "Let justice prevail" then mic drop, everyone go home. We were all totally shocked, couldn't believe what was happening
— Mike Prysner (@MikePrysner) October 15, 2017
To prove this isn't a misunderstanding, he literally put on a Gaslamp Killer song at the end
— Mike Prysner (@MikePrysner) October 15, 2017
"Innocent until proven guilty" does not mean women who go public about being raped are "liars until proven victims"
— Mike Prysner (@MikePrysner) October 15, 2017
People who use that phrase to defend accused rapists are really saying the woman is guilty of falsifying rape until she's proven innocent
— Mike Prysner (@MikePrysner) October 15, 2017
Other fans who were at the show have shared similar accounts of FlyLo's apparent defense. And the timing! Hollywood in shakeup over rape culture finally being exposed—FlyLo uses world-famous Hollywood stage to call accusers liars

Saying not to trust what you read on Twitter and shit...

it was an incredible set until he decided to emulate Donald Trump

As reported last week, Twitter user @chelseaelaynne alleged that the Gaslamp Killer (real name William Benjamin Bensussen) drugged and raped her and her friend RaeAn at the Standard Hotel in L.A. in 2013.
Bensussen has denied the claims, but been dropped from an upcoming appearance at New Zealand festival Northern Bass.
Brainfeeder also issued a statement in the wake of the allegations, claiming they "did not have any knowledge of the alleged incidents, and condemn any such actions across the board." They also noted that the label hasn't released any Gaslamp Killer music in over five years and he is not currently signed to Brainfeeder.
