Rootsy rockers Delta Spirit have already announced that their upcoming album Into the Wide will be coming out on the U.S. through Dualtone Records, and now they have a Canadian deal to go along with it. Into the Wide will be out north of the border on September 9 through Dine Alone Records.
The California-bred band spent a year writing the album in their windowless studio in their current home base of Brooklyn. Multi-instrumentalist Kelly Winrich said in a statement, "That sense of feeling trapped in our studio and in the city definitely gave the album more of a weight than our previous records and played a big part in this being our moodiest recording yet."
The final product was eventually recorded during a live-off-the-floor session with Ben Allen (Animal Collective, Deerhunter) in Atlanta's Maze Studios. According to a press release, the producer "helped breathe new life and brighter energy into the songs while still capturing the claustrophobia of their creative writing space."
