UK imprint Death Waltz Recording Company has set the bar mighty high via some stellar soundtrack reissues (Halloween III, Zombi 2, Escape from New York), and the label will go all out this Record Store Day (April 20) when it adds five more special releases to its catalogue.
A press release from the company notes that it will deliver contemporary synth-wizard Antoni Maiovvi's Yellow: Original Music from the Short Film in a limited pressing of 1,000 on yellow vinyl with blood spatter. It also comes housed in a "retro cut disco bag sleeve." Maiovvi is a self-described practitioner of "horror disco" and, as you can tell from a stream of his "Driving Theme" down below, is influenced by old-school '70s horror soundtracks.
Space rocker Steve Moore of Zombi, meanwhile, will have his score to the 2005 documentary Horror Business pressed on black and red split vinyl. It too will come in the bespoke bag sleeve. You'll find the airy and ambitious theme song for the film beneath Maiovvi's track.
Switching up formats, Death Waltz has also whipped up a trio of 7-inches for Record Store Day that pair up classic TV themes. Up first is a team-up of the Star Trek and Lost In Space themes, which arrives on black and glitter vinyl. The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits themes will also appear on a mini-slab together, while ooky instrumentals for Alfred Hitchcock Presents and The Munsters close out the series. Each platter is limited to 1,000 copies and features exclusive 7 x 7 artprint by We Buy Your Kids.
