Death Cab for Cutie to Release Live DVD Alongside Codes and Keys, Add Toronto Tour Date

Your little sister's favourite major label indie act Death Cab for Cutie have been steeped in hype as they drop details on their forthcoming new album Codes and Keys. Now, the news has got even better, as the band have announced plans to release a concert DVD to coincide with the album.

Speaking with Seattle radio station 107.7 The End, Death Cab for Cutie bassist Nick Harmer revealed that a live DVD will come out at some point in May to coincide with the release of Codes and Keys.

Harmer didn't elaborate on an exact date, title or tracklisting, but the DVD was filmed at a Bellingham, WA homecoming show at the end of Death Cab's last tour. The film is being handled by Trixie DVD, the production company run by Fugazi's Brendan Canty, and Harmer explained that the DVD will also include a "mini-documentary" about the band's Bellingham home. A few stills from the film can be seen here.

As previously reported, Codes and Keys will be released on May 31 via Atlantic.
