Death Cab for Cutie have announced Asphalt Meadows, their first album since 2018's Thank You for Today. The album is arriving September 16 via Atlantic, and today the band has shared its lead single "Roman Candles."
Asphalt Meadows was produced by indie all-star producer John Congleton. In a statement about the chugging, energetic new single, the band wrote:
"'Roman Candles' is about the crippling, existential dread that goes hand in hand with living in a nervous city on a dying planet. And that the only way to be in the moment is to let it all go."
