Deadmau5 Will Debut a New Track at the Toronto Maple Leafs Home Opener

The first home game of the year for Toronto Maple Leafs this Saturday (October 15) will also double as a celebration of their centennial anniversary, and as part of the festivities, deadmau5 is set to debut a new track.

The producer wrote the song specifically for the team to signal a new chapter in their storied history, with MapleLeafs.com promising a high-tempo anthem.

"I got an email from management asking if I would consider doing it and I was like heck yeah," deadmau5 told the site. "I didn't want to just license out an existing track. It was better to do something different but still retaining some qualities that I possess with my own music. I wanted to keep it in the vein of something driving and anthem-ish."

Deadmau5's last commercially released track was "Snowcone," a polished demo that resurfaced officially this past May. The Leafs' centennial ceremonies will kick off at 6 p.m. EDT on Saturday.
