The David Lynch Foundation, a charitable organization run by the beloved auteur, has teamed up with Pledge Music to release a 17-song digital compilation of exclusive material from the likes of Tom Waits, Iggy Pop, Peter Gabriel and many others.

According to a press release, "All funds raised from these downloads will go to support the work of DLF in their global outreach, which includes teaching stress-reducing, health-promoting meditation to one million at-risk youth and 10,000 veterans with PTSD."

Waits's contribution is a live version of "The Briar & the Rose" recorded in Edinburgh, Scotland. As a press release explains, "this live concert rendition strips away the original sound, leaving only the arresting combination of Waits's enigmatic voice and rich piano accompaniment."

In addition to the aforementioned artists, the compilation also includes contributions from Arrested Development, Ben Folds, Mary Hopkin, Maroon 5, Neon Trees, Ozomatli, Heather Nova, Moby, Au Revoir Simone, Carmen Rizzo, Salman Ahmad, Slightly Stoopid, Dave Stewart and Andy Summers.

For a pledge of $18, fans will receive all 17 exclusive tracks. A pledge can be made here, while samples of some of the songs, including Waits's "The Briar & the Rose," can be found here.
