David J with Jill Tracy

"Bela Lugosi's Dead (Undead Is Forever)"

Goth-loving Halloween fiends no doubt have their fingers itching to press play on a spooky playlist including Bauhaus's "Bela Lugosi's Dead," but band bassist David J is giving you something new to chew on via a reworked version of the doomy, dub-styled classic.

J's "Undead Is Forever" remake keeps things creepy, but offers a somewhat softer touch to the track via Jill Tracy's piano work and the autoharp and violin scraping from Ysanne Spevack. He also gets classy by injecting a bit of Lord Byron's ode to neck-biters, "The Giaour," obviously delivered in a chills-inducing baritone that rivals Peter Murphy's.
