Lovable crank David Crosby has got to be one of the most crotchety users on Twitter, and we love him for it. Whether he's arguing with fans or trashing other musicians, he's a must-follow presence on the social media site. And now he's subtweeted his former CSNY bandmate Neil Young.
Earlier this week, we learned that Neil Young actually had no problem with Donald Trump using his song "Rockin' in the Free World" in his campaign, so long as the politician paid all of the proper licensing fees. This followed the pair's back-and-forth beef in 2015 over use of the song.
Rather than say something particularly mean about the situation, Crosby almost seemed more disappointed than mad. Responding to a fan's prompt for comment, he said, "Everybody makes mistakes sometimes. There's one."
Of course, it's Crosby's attitude that reportedly brought Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young to an end earlier this year. Speaking with the Dutch magazine Lust for Life, Graham Nash said, "I don't like David Crosby right now.... He's been awful for me the last two years, just fucking awful. I've been there and saved his fucking ass for 45 years, and he treated me like shit. You can't do that to me. You can do it for a day or so, until I think you're going to come around. When it goes on longer, and I keep getting nasty emails from him, I'm done. Fuck you. David has ripped the heart out of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young."
That said, the less music he's making means the more time Crosby can spend commenting on world events on Twitter.
