Whoops!

Following the passing of guitar icon Eddie Van Halen, David Crosby shared his thoughts on the artist in a tweet that read a little too "meh" on its face, and the post was promptly lit up online. In continuing to beat back Van Halen's ardent defenders, Crosby shared "an even more embarrassing truth" in explaining his post.

"Yes you Van Halen fans I did just toss off an answer that was not cool," Crosby admitted yesterday (October 13). "The even more embarrassing truth is...I didn't even remember he had just died or I would have kept my mouth shut....I do make mistakes ...no offense intended."
Crosby had previously tried to express that his comment came from not being personally moved by Van Halen's style of play, writing, "Hendrix changed the world of guitar. Nobody else really...he was talented ...meh to me means I don't care that much....and I don't...doesn't mean he wasn't good, he was but not for me."

A general rule of thumb with the Croz on Twitter: come for the incendiary takes, stay for the spliff ratings.

Last year, the songwriter was spotted in-studio with Jason Isbell.
