David Bowie Reveals Expanded Edition of 'The Next Day,' Taps James Murphy for Remix

BY Josiah HughesPublished Sep 30, 2013

Earlier this year, David Bowie surprised us all with the release of his new album The Next Day. Though it was already a lengthy effort, Bowie has expanded the release and will release a new edition called The Next Day Extra.

The triple-disc release includes the original album, along with a 10-track bonus disc. Five of those songs are previously unheard, while three appeared on the deluxe version of The Next Day. Then there are two remixes, one of which is a rework of "Love is Lost" courtesy of Bowie's "Reflektor" buddy James Murphy.

In addition to those two discs, the package will also come with a DVD that features all of the videos from the album. You can watch the clip for "Valentine's Day" below.

Finally, if you're not into the idea of repurchasing an entire CD that you already own, the bonus songs will also be available as a stand-alone iTunes EP.

Columbia will release The Next Day Extra on November 5.
