Dave Grohl Sets Digital Release Date for 'Sound City' Documentary

We've been eagerly anticipating Dave Grohl's documentary about Sound City Studios for the past year, and now the Foo Fighters leader has officially set a date for when fans at home can watch his his film about the iconic Los Angeles facility.

A digital version of Sound City will go on sale on February 1 for $10. The downloads are DRM-free and are available to purchase now.

Prior to the at-home release, the film will premiere at Sundance Film Festival, which runs from January 17 to 27 in Park City, UT.

The flick was directed and produced by Grohl himself, and it will come out through Roswell Films. Watch a trailer below.

As you can see from this preview, it features interviews with the likes of Tom Petty, Stevie Nicks, Lars Ulrich of Metallica, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails, Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age, Rick Rubin and Butch Vig.
