Daphni

'FabricLive 93' (album stream)

Coming in the wake of several teaser tracks, Caribou mastermind Dan Snaith has now unloaded all of his new FabricLive 93 mix as Daphni.

Made up of new original material and a few Daphni remixes, the entire 27-track release is now streaming on NPR.

Snaith initially explained his decision to put together a FabricLive mix came from going to the Fabric nightclub to see legendary electronic producer/DJ Ricardo Villalobos play a good decade ago.

In a statement, Snaith said:

A lot of these tracks were recorded in situ in the mix itself — I'd put one track in place and instead of searching through existing music to find the track to follow it I'd just make an entirely new one. You'd expect a DJ mix where someone made each track to follow the previous one to be very homogenous. To seem like it was planned out and build in a controlled way. I think the result is almost exactly the opposite! The tracks on here pull from very diverse ends of the spectrum of music that I like/make.

You can now hear the results in full over here.

As previously reported, Daphni will also be playing a special five-hour set as part of MUTEK at Metropolis on August 23.
