Daniel Menche Announces 'Guts' LP for Editions Mego

Long-running improv master Daniel Menche has found some kindred spirits in the rising avant-garde imprint Editions Mego, which will release his next album early next year.

Menche's new album is called Guts, and sees him take on the piano. A press release describes the record as "more voraciously beastial soundwork coming from Daniel Menche... This time his chosen theme is the piano, in which he attacks, investigates and dissects with the precision of an autopsy surgeon, adding a whole new meaning to concept of  prepared piano, or should we say unprepared piano for an all out assault."

And just FYI, the album cover, which can be seen above, is taken from an X-ray of a Chihuahua named Arrow.

Guts will be available on January 10. The album can be pre-ordered here.

Guts:

1. "Guts 2 x 4"
2. "Guts One"
3. "Guts Two"
4. "Guts Three"
