Avant-garde electronic label RVNG Intl. already has a special place in our hearts thanks to its constant stream of interesting releases, but their next platter has us swooning even more than usual. FRKWYS Vol. 7, the latest instalment in the label's improvisation series, sees some heavy hitters from the electronic outskirts team up for one killer-looking collaboration.
Organized by Oneohtrix Point Never/Ford & Lopatin main-man Daniel Lopatin, the newest FRKWYS release finds him join forces with David Borden, James Ferraro, Samuel Godin and Laurel Halo. Over two days last August, the five musicians recorded improvised jam sessions in their Brooklyn studio.
Those works have been edited only for time to create FRKWYS Vol. 7. The album will be available on July 17 via RVNG Intl. as an LP or CD. More information on ordering is available here, while album track "People of the Wind Pt. 2" can be streamed below.
