Dan the Automator's Pillowfight Set to Release Debut Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 10, 2013

There's still no word on when we can expect the long-planned sophomore set from Deltron 3030 to arrive, but at least producer Dan the Automator will hit us with some new tunes this year via his Pillowfight project's upcoming LP.

The self-titled set arrives January 22 digitally and on CD through Bulk Recordings and February 26 on vinyl, and finds Dan the Automator whipping up soundscapes with solo artist Emily Wells. According to a press release, vocalist/violinist Wells headed down to San Francisco to record the album with the Automator. You can sample the team's tunes via a stream of album track "Used to Think" in the player below.

Beyond the duo's work, other performers on the record include Deltron contributor Kid Koala on the 1s and 2s, as well as Lateef the Truthspeaker, who adds backing vocals. Similar to the Automator's Gorillaz, the Pillowgfight has an in-house artist, painter/muralist David Choe, who created the album art and accompanying music videos. You can check the LP tracklisting down below.
