It's been hard to keep up with everything Britpop icon Damon Albarn is up to at the moment. A while back we got a new track from Blur, Albarn revealed his Rocket Juice and the Moon project, then collaborated with some big names on a new Gorillaz tune, and now we've got the first listen to his upcoming Dr. Dee opera.
The opera was written about alchemist and advisor to Elizabeth I, John Dee and has been described by Albarn as "strange pastoral folk." We get our first taste of what that means with the newly released "The Marvelous Dream," which you can listen to at the bottom of this post.
Dr. Dee will be out May 8 on Virgin Records.
