Get excited, Daft Punk fans: one half of the robotic duo has some new music heading our way.
Word came today that the group's Thomas Bangalter has written the score for French-Argentine director Gaspar Noé's upcoming new film, Enter the Void, which is set to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 22.
For those well-versed in Daft Punk history, the collaboration should come as no surprise. Bangalter previously penned the dark and claustrophobic score for the director's stomach-turning 2002 film, Irréversible, and, as previously reported, is in the midst of working with Daft Punk cohort Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo on the music for Tron 2.0.
And while there's still no confirmation of an official Enter the Void soundtrack, one was released for Irréversible, so keep those fingers crossed.

Oscar and his sister Linda are recent arrivals in Tokyo. Oscar's a smalltime drug dealer and Linda works as a nightclub stripper. One night, Oscar is caught up in a police bust and shot. As he lies dying, his spirit, faithful to the promise he made his sister that he would never abandon her, refuses to abandon the world of the living. It wanders through the city, his visions growing evermore distorted, evermore nightmarish. Past, present and future merge in a hallucinatory maelstrom.
