At long last, Cyberpunk 2077 is apparently set to return to Sony's PlayStation Store. After Sony pulled the plug on the troubled video game title way back in December 2020, it's now set to come back this month, according to multiple online reports.
While Sony has not confirmed that it's reinstating Cyberpunk on its store, a regulatory disclosure by developer CD Projekt Red points to the game being back up for sale on the PlayStation Store on June 21, Polygon points out.
Various reports from the U.S. also report that the game can now be found in the PlayStation Store when searching for its name, with the title now having the tag of "Just Announced." However, when Exclaim! searched for Cyberpunk 2077 in the PlayStation Store on both PS5 and PS4 here in Canada, we were unable to find the game listed.
The return to Sony's digital store would come after CD Projekt Red made multiple patches and hot fixes to the game, which became notorious for its poor performance and bugs, especially on last-gen consoles.
When Sony announced the takedown of Cyberpunk back on December 17, the company stated the following:
SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store. SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice.
Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund. Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution.
