Crystal Castles/Parallels Offshoot Kontravoid Reveals Deluxe Edition of Debut Album, Shares New Video

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 12, 2012

Ex-Crystal Castles and Parallels member Cam Findlay let loose his coldwave debut as Kontravoid earlier this year, but the analogue synth lover had a few extra tunes kicking around and will be reissuing the set as a deluxe edition this summer.

Toronto imprint Pretty Pretty Records will re-release Kontravoid July 11. Tarantula X had issued the original set digitally and on limited vinyl in February.

A tracklisting for the redo has not been offered up, but it will contain bonus cuts and remixes. In the meantime, you can check out the newly revealed video for album track "Silent Visions," featuring a creepily masked Findlay doing whatever it takes to get some ghostly back-ups on the goth- and electro-inspired tune.

The deluxe edition of Kontravoid won't be the only record Findlay delivers this summer. While a release date has yet to be set in stone, album tracks "Native State" and "Cut to Cleanse" will be pressed onto a seven-inch single by Cititrax (Minimal Wave) in the near future.
