Those hoping to spend their summer on the beach will have a chance to soak up a new festival while doing so. Corona SunSets is a newly launched music event that will take place on beaches around the world, including here in Canada.

Launched by SFX Entertainment in collaboration with Corona and Beatport, this electronic festival series will hit beaches in the UK, Mexico, Canada and Spain. The Canadian stop is on August 16 at Hanlan's Point in Toronto Islands Park.

Featuring two separate main stages, acts at Toronto's Corona SunSets include Moby (performing a DJ set), Thievery Corporation, Cajmere, Wolf + Lamb, Lee Foss & Anabel Englund, Cyril Hahn, No Regular Play, Thomas Jack and Jeff Button. There will also be a DJ competition.

According to a press release, "This brand new series of festivals brings to life the Sound of the Beach, a new genre centred at the crossroads of Balearic beat and deep house."

Tickets go on sale on July 13 at 10 a.m. local time right here. They will also be available at Toronto stores Rotate This and Soundscapes. Note that there will be early bird and pre-sale tickets available as of tomorrow (June 11) through Corona's Facebook page. Tickets include a $7 ferry charge. The event is 19-plus only.

As far as the international festival dates, not all the details have been announced yet, but you can learn all about the UK edition here.
