Conan O'Brien Explains Why You Shouldn't Listen to RHCP While Driving

His "Give It Away" impression is pretty good!

Conan O'Brien has a public safety announcement: do not listen to the Red Hot Chili Peppers while driving. It simply isn't safe!

Conan shared this carefully considered theory in a segment at SiriusXM's NYC headquarters — where he was hanging out because he's about to launch his own SiriusXM channel. He spoke with Madison, the host of the channels Lithium and Alt Nation, and discussed the hazards of hearing RHCP in the car.

"You can't listen to the Chili Peppers and drive safely," he argued. "Do you know what I mean? You can't! When you're in your car and you're driving and you hear…" He then launched into faux rap scatting, with a cadence clearly borrowed from "Give It Away." He then imitated Flea's bass slapping and briefly sang the "Give It Away" chorus.

Check out Conan's spot-on RHCP impression in the video below. The discussion about the band comes up around the five-minute mark.

Conan should check out Exclaim!'s list of the 20 best Chili Peppers songs. "Give It Away" is on there!

The band's John Frusciante has announced a new solo album.
