A Common Ground

Waiting For A Change To Come

With a sound similar to Strike Anywhere, A Common Ground’s members possess a fine set of chops between them. Able to execute such fine guitar work as in the intricate bridge of "Out of Control,” the band blast through ten tracks of heavy melodic hardcore, with occasional forays into the pop punk side of things. At their best on shout-heavy tracks like "One Plus One,” A Common Ground seem most comfortable when banging the shit out of their instruments, as the super-poppy moments occasionally fall slightly flat. The final cut on the album, "Cannot Comprehend,” combines the band’s ability to rock out with their ability to pen compelling melodies, and showcases the band at their most effective.
