Every year, one of the highlights of Canadian Music Week is the awards show that helps close out the event. This year will be no exception, as the Slacker Canadian Music Fest will culminate in the Sirius XM Independent Music Awards on March 24 at Toronto's Fairmont Royal York Hotel.

This will be the 12th instalment of the annual event, which is casually known as the Indies. Although the nominees haven't yet been announced, the organizers have just rolled out an impressive cast of performers for the evening. They include: Dan Mangan, Rich Aucoin, the Pack A.D., the Sheepdogs and Young Empires.

Making the whole thing even sweeter, the night will close with a concert from electro pop crew Passion Pit. That's right: a whole show, not just a brief two- or three-song set.

According to a press release, "Fans will have the chance to hear some of their favourites from the band's first two albums -- Manners and Chunk of Change -- while getting a sneak peek into new material from their forthcoming release due early this year."

This adds to an already impressive CMW lineup that includes performances from the likes of John K. Samson & the Provincial Band, Two Hours Traffic, Cloud Nothings, 3 Inches of Blood, Treble Charger and the Inbreds.

Tickets for the Indies cost $30 and are available here.
