City and Colour Covers Alicia Keys and Bic Runga on New 7-inch

BY Alex HudsonPublished Sep 27, 2013

City and Colour has previously rolled out cover tunes via his functionally titled Covers series, and the campaign will continue next Monday (September 30) with the arrival of Covers, Pt. 3 via Dine Alone Records.

The single features singer Dallas Green's own take on two female-fronted tracks: Alicia Keys' Drake-featuring "Un-Thinkable (I'm Ready)" and "Captured" by New Zealand songwriter Bic Runga. These songs will be available digitally and also in a limited run of 1,000 7-inches (500 black and 500 clear).

In related news, Green will make Covers, Pt. 1 available as a stand-alone release for the first time; it was previously only issued as a limited-edition 10-inch as part of a pre-sale ticket package. It includes a live version of the City and Colour song "Sometimes (I Wish)," plus versions of the Band's "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down" and Neil Young's "Cowgirl in the Sand."

This single will be released through City and Colour's website in a run of 200 hand-numbered copies on clear vinyl on Monday.

See City and Colour's incredible busy tour schedule below. It includes lots of shows in the U.S., Australia and Europe, but none in Canada.
