Dallas Green has unveiled his first new City and Colour song since 2019 album A Pill for Loneliness. "Meant to Be" arrives via Still Records, an imprint of Dine Alone Records.
Serving as an elegy for a friend — City and Colour producer Karl Bareham, who died off of Australia's Gold Coast in 2019 — writing the track became a cathartic experience for Green, whose memory of having to identify his friend at the morgue remains with him to this day.
"That was the hardest moment I've had in my entire life," the singer-songwriter said in a release. "It changed me forever."
