Childish Gambino to Debut New Album at Live Shows

Donald Glover has been keeping busy in Hollywood, featuring in films like Magic Mike XXL and The Martian, as well as helming a new TV show titled Atlanta that will premiere this fall. But the multi-talented actor and comedian hasn't forgotten about his hip-hop alter-ego Childish Gambino.

He's now revealed that there is new music coming from his rap project. A new album presumably titled PHAROS is set to arrive later this year, with the material making its debut at a string of live shows in September.

The plans were revealed through Glover's new "PHAROS Earth" app, where Childish Gambino announced that he will play three shows in Joshua Tree, CA, from September 2 to 4. Attendees have been promised that each of the full-length concerts "will be comprised of new music."

Tickets (including onsite camping) for the event will be $99 and pre-sales begin June 24. They can be purchased through the app, which can be downloaded here.

Childish Gambino's last LP arrived as Because the Internet in 2013, though he has since released a joint EP with Chance the Rapper and a mixtape dubbed STN MTN.
