Childish Gambino Announces 'Because the Internet' Album via New Trailer

Actor Donald Glover previously promised to scale down his acting commitments in order to focus on his rap career as Childish Gambino. It doesn't come as too much surprise, therefore, to learn that he will be releasing a new album in the coming months.

The album is called Because the Internet. Glover announced it via a minute-and-a-half-long teaser video, which shows him suspended underwater in a swimming pool with his eyes open. We also hear a clip of a new song, which mixes soul hooks with some extremely self-referential rhymes about Glover's music career. The video notes that the album will be available this coming "winter break." Curiously, the clip is tagged "Yaphet Kotto," after the famed Hollywood actor.

Beyond this, we don't know much about Because the Internet, but more information is bound to be confirmed in due course. For now, check out the teaser below.

This follows Glover's recent short film Clapping for the Wrong Reasons. The extremely busy actor-rapper is also apparently working on a new comedy TV series set in Atlanta's music scene.
