Yesterday (June 25), actor/rapper Childish Gambino (aka Donald Glover) announced he'll be delivering a new mixtape on July 4. This morning (June 26), the rhymer revealed the tape's title, Royalty, and he also premiered a cut that will likely appear on the release. The new number is called "One Up," and you can stream it now.
Offered up through New York's Sway in the Morning program, the track gels on a skittered hi-hat beat and ooky, distorted organ lines reminiscent of John Carpenter's Halloween soundtrack. As far as the lyrics go, Gambino takes aim at the haters, spitting on the hook: "You ain't likin' what we doing? Shut Up."
