Rapper Chief Keef was reportedly taken into custody today (March 26) by police following a shooting incident in the Chicago suburb of Northfield, IL, which has left one man in an intensive care unit.

According to Chicago's WGN news [via TMZ], the incident took place at the home of someone close to Keef, whose real name is Keith Cozart, and the victim called up the station to say the rapper had shot him. The Northfield Police Department confirmed that the gunshot victim had been taken to the hospital but has not yet commented on Keef's involvement in the incident.

A lawyer for Keef reportedly told TMZ that the rapper didn't shoot the man in question but was at the property when the incident took place.

So far no arrests have been made.

Though unrelated, the rapper did not help himself out any by posting a series of pictures of himself and GBE rapper Ballout posing in a bathroom holding uzis and AK-47s on his Instagram account earlier this week.

Earlier this month, the 19-year-old Keef was arrested on a DUI, while he has had a number of run-ins with the law the last couple of years, from drug charges to trespassing charges and parole violation.
