Check Out Reviews of Fucked Up, the Magnetic Fields, Beach House and More in New Release Tuesday
Published Jan 26, 2010New Release Tuesday is upon us, and so are some great new listens. Be sure to check out what the Exclaim! Recently Reviewed section has in store for you this week.
Toronto hardcore punks Fucked Up have released their two-disc compilation of songs, Couple Tracks, which includes tracks culled from rare vinyl editions, as well as a few unreleased ones. This is an Exclaim!-recommended must-have for any devoted fan.
Also bearing the Exclaim!-recommended stamp of approval is the latest Magnetic Fields album from cantankerous pop genius Stephin Merritt, who gives some much-needed contrast to 2008's feedback-filled Distortion.
Then there's the second album from folk pop chanteuse Basia Bulat, Heart of My Own, as well as the new solo project by Wintersleep's Paul Murphy, Postdata.
Toronto twosome Woodhands have crafted Remorsecapade, a groovy sequel to their last album, that's ready to brighten up the dance floors. Additionally featured is Beach House's third album Teen Dream, the most diverse and perhaps strongest effort to date from the Baltimore dream pop duo.
Finally, indie pop collective Los Campesinos! give us Romance Is Boring, while Four Tet returns with There Is Love For You.
