Charlotte Cardin Announces 'Big Boy' EP, Shares Single

Montreal chanteuse Charlotte Cardin has announced plans for a new EP. Titled Big Boy, the collection will be released through iTunes as a six-song, two-video set on July 15.

The singer-songwriter combines elements of electronic production and traditional jazz instrumentation, bridged together by pop-leaning melodies. Listeners will get acquainted with that sound across the EP's six tracks, which includes the title tune, a collaboration with Husser ("Like It Doesn't Hurt"), some doubled-up wordplay on titles "Dirty Dirty" and "Talk Talk," and some Francophone offerings with "Les échardes" and "Faufile."

The iTunes version also includes a pair of bonus live video performances of "Big Boy" and "Les échardes."

"Faufile" is streaming now, serving as an introduction to Cardin's soulful French vocals and genre-blending approach to piano-driven pop. A press release explains that the title means "to slip or sneak away," which seems a fitting match for Cardin's haunting, elusive croon.
