Charli XCX Announces 'Sucker' LP, Premieres New Single

We already knew that British hit-maker Charli XCX had a star-studded new record in the works, and now we have the firm details surrounding its impending release. The album is called Sucker, and it will be out on October 21 via Neon Gold/Atlantic Records.

Below, hear the LP's new single: the thumping pop banger "Break the Rules," a youthful anthem about getting high and hating school.

Regarding the song, Charli told BuzzFeed, "The song is inspired by a lot of the things I was listening to whilst in Sweden at the end of last year. I spent about a month making a punk record and covering songs by Swedish punk bands like Snuffed by the Yakuza and stuff. This song was written when I came out of the other side of that punk phase and translated it into something more pop. Obviously, it's about not giving a fuck."

Previously, Charli revealed that she had completed sessions with Weezer's Rivers Cuomo and Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij. There's no word as to whether these artists ended up on the final product, however. Charli previously described her new album as "my favourite thing I've ever done, and the best thing I've ever done, I think."

In the last couple of years, Charli has been a featured guest on mega-hits like Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" and Icona Pop's "I Love It," as well as shared her own recent single "Boom Clap."

Sucker will follow up last year's True Romance.
