Chance the Rapper's musical interests evidently go well beyond hip-hop, since the buzzworthy Chicago MC covered Coldplay's mega-ballad "Fix You" this week (November 6) in Syracuse, NY.
A rough fan recording shows Chance and his band giving the tune an interesting makeover with some threatening electronic elements and loud, dramatic choruses. Somewhat disappointingly, he omits the song's big payoff (the "Tears stream down your face" crescendo), and his vocals aren't exactly polished, but it's a noble effort nonetheless.
