Cat's Eyes Team Up with Broadcast's James Cargill to Score Peter Strickland's 'The Duke of Burgundy' Film

Rachel Zeffira and Horrors frontman Faris Badwan are set to deliver new Cat's Eyes material for director Peter Strickland's upcoming The Duke of Burgundy.

NME reports that the duo will work alongside Strickland and Broadcast's James Cargill for the film score. Few details exist beyond that, but the movie will star Sidse Babett Knudsen (Borgen) and Chiara D'Anna, and is expected to open in UK cinemas in 2014.

Zeffira had previously told Exclaim! that a proper follow-up to Cat's Eyes' 2011 self-titled debut won't arrive until after the Horrors deliver their next LP. Though the Horrors had planned to issue their next set this September, it has since been pushed to a 2014 release.

"We basically had the choice between finishing the record and it being one way, or giving it a few more months and it being substantially better," Badwan recently told NME. "Albums last forever, there's no point rushing it."

Meanwhile, The Duke of Burgundy will be the second team-up between Cargill and Strickland, who last worked together on the 2012 Italian horror film tribute Berberian Sound Studio. The soundtrack was issued through Warp Records earlier this year.
