Caribou

Swim Remixes

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Oct 28, 2010

Earlier this month we told you that Caribou's Dan Snaith was prepping a companion remix album to his brilliant, Polaris Music Prize-nominated Swim. If that had you wondering what it would sound like for fellow club-minded artists such as Junior Boys and Fuck Buttons to mangle Snaith's music, than wonder no more.

While Swim's original tracklisting ran at nine songs long, this beefed-up collection features 15 reinterpretations. "Odessa" gets the deluxe treatment between three takes from Junior Boys, David Wrench's Drumapella and Nite Jewel. If we had to pick a favourite, we're going for the warbling synth and flute loop melodies of Nite Jewel's tabla-driven take on 1980s Middle Eastern disco music.
