CANVAS

'sticktoitiveness' (album stream)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Mar 2, 2015

Toronto-based indie rockers CANVAS are set to release their debut record sticktoitiveness tomorrow (March 3), but you can already stream it right here at Exclaim!

Led by producer and songwriter Chris Graham, the band are following up an EP with this new set of tunes that traces their creative journey. Of 20 tracks that Graham wrote and recorded entirely on his own, 10 made the final album, blending "danceable grooves, hooky melodies, shimmering guitars and anthemic choruses into a post-synth-rock collage."

In order to bring the songs to life on stage, Graham enlisted bandmates Katie Du Temple, Carlos Coronado and Jordan Michaelis.

"There were no limits creating this music," reads a statement from Graham. "We want people to feel that when they experience it as well. It's about creating something memorable and redemptive — even in its darkest moments. I want to move people with this music, both physically, and emotionally."

You can catch the band on their upcoming tour dates, which are listed below. But, for now, give sticktoitiveness an advanced listen in the player at the bottom of the page.
