Cancer Bats Prepping New Album for Early 2010

Toronto metal giants Cancer Bats have dropped some details about their upcoming third LP. The band, who last released Hail Destroyer in 2008, recently revealed that their new album will be ready for early 2010, and will almost definitely be called Bears, Mayors, Scraps and Bones.

In an interview with Rock Sound [via Punknews], front-man Liam Cormier opened up about the new record, saying the album title was a little tentative.

"I need to make sure everyone gives it the thumbs up, but I got the album title in a dream probably three or four days while I was listening to Smashing Pumpkins while I was going to sleep," Cormier said. "I mean the title has nothing to do with Smashing Pumpkins but it's sleeping music and in the middle of my dream I woke up and thought of the record title and text it to Mike [Peters, drums]. You know what I'll ruin it - I'll tell you and then everyone will be forced to like it!"

Cormier also went on to drop some clues about the album's sound, describing it as "Glenn Danzig going on a camping trip with Black Flag's Greg Ginn, a reanimated Vincent Price and the Beastie Boys." Whatever that means, it sounds amazing.

And while Cancer Bats don't currently have any North American live dates lined up, they do have tons of European ones. You can check the full list here
