Canadian Tennis Champ Bianca Andreescu Wants Drake to Congratulate Her

Bianca Andreescu made history by beating Serena Williams in the U.S. Open finals on Saturday (September 7), becoming the first Canadian to win a Grand Slam tournament. She's already been congratulated by the Raptors, Leafs, Blue Jays and TFC — but she's still waiting on a message of congratulations from Drake.

The 19-year-old Mississauga tennis star appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night (September 9) to discuss the iconic win and her rise to fame.

She was pretty humble and gracious, admitting that she's received messages from Shania Twain, Steve Nash and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, but when asked who she was still waiting to hear from, she called out Drizzy without missing a beat.

"Champagne Papi, I'm waiting for you," she said.

The rapper has previously publicly supported Canadian sports stars like his beloved Toronto Raptors, as well as Olympic swimmer Penny Oleksiak.

Of course, there's also a good chance he's staying quiet on the matter due to his previously rumoured romantic connection to Williams — and we all know she could take him in a fight.
