Canadian Music Week has rescheduled its 2020 edition as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Originally scheduled for May 19 to 23 in locations throughout Toronto, CMW 2020 will now take place from September 8 to 13.

A statement on the CMW website from festival organizers reads, "Due to the rapidly evolving situation with COVID-19, we will be postponing the 38th edition of Canadian Music Week 2020. The festival will now take place from September 8-13, with the conference remaining at the Sheraton Hotel from September 9-11. All badges and wristbands will be honoured on the new dates, and we look forward to returning in the fall of 2020."

Last week, festival organizers said that the festival was going to be "taking place as planned." Artists that had previously been announced to perform at this year's edition include Pussy RiotCorb Lund and Terra Lightfoot. It is yet to be seen if any of these performances will be impacted by the postponement.
